Mohs surgery (Skin cancer)

The surgery can last between 3 and 4 hours.

The pain is moderate.

The precise procedure of specialized personnel, still today, in Colombia there are few centers that offer the service and very few specialists trained in Mohs surgery.  In Pell you will find trained specialists offering Mohs surgery.

• Extirpation of the tumor tissue.
  
• Sophisticated preparation of small portions of the excised tissue for examination under a microscope and determination of whether the tumor has been eliminated or not in its entirety.
• If a cancer cell is detected, the previous procedure is repeated immediately, but only in the affected area, until full healing is achieved.

Rest is recommended for 24 hours. Have an analgesic at home if you have pain.
